Review: Rogue Protocol (Murderbot Diaries #3) by Martha Wells

MY ⭐️ RATING: 4.5/5

Format: Kindle Whispersync

BOOK DESCRIPTION

Who knew being a heartless killing machine would present so many moral dilemmas?

Sci-fi’s favorite antisocial A.I. is back on a mission. The case against the too-big-to-fail GrayCris Corporation is floundering, and more importantly, authorities are beginning to ask more questions about where Dr. Mensah’s SecUnit is.

And Murderbot would rather those questions went away. For good.

MY REVIEW

I have to say, I enjoyed Rogue Protocol much more than All Systems Red & Artificial Condition. This was honestly a major step up in terms of world-building, character work and a plot that had me engaged from start to finish and is the perfect palate cleanser. Wells improvement from book to book has me excited to see just how far she can go with this series.

“Who knew being a heartless killing machine would present so many moral dilemmas. (Yes, that was sarcasm.)”

With Murderbot on a new mission to Milu, there’s a new exciting place to explore with new characters and machines to get to know. Of all the new ones, I think Miki is my favorite to get to meet in this novella, the interactions between Miki and Murderbot had me giggling at several points, the narration by Kevin Free made it even better. The story of this leads to more clues about GrayCris and what types of lengths they will go to, to protect their secrets.
