Who is the Wolfmantula?
My name is Michael, and I am from a small east Texas town called Elmo, that has a population under 500. Elmo is not famous for anything, but just a few miles up the road is Terrell, TX, home of actor, Jamie Foxx. I work in fire protection as a Fire Pump Specialist (not a fireman) and the gym is my home away from home. My 9 year old boxer, was and still is my entire world, she passed away on December 5, 2025 from bone cancer. Her name was Athena, named after the Greek goddess of War and Wisdom, and what a fierce and wise warrior she was.

How I got into reading
For most of my life I didn’t care for reading books, I had only read 2 on my own, Rocket Boys in Middle School, and American Sniper before the movie came out. It was just never my thing when I was younger, life was about sports and video games.
A fateful day in July of 2018 changed everything.
Game of Thrones season 7 had ended and I was wanting to watch or read something similar to that, but not actually that. So I started looking up books and found several that I was interested in, after a lot of research, I finally decided on Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames. In 2020, I started writing reviews after getting inspiration from Petrik Leo of Novel Notions. I’d always see his reviews on every book on Goodreads that I was interested in reading which made me want to let people know why they should read something I read as well. I started with a few sentences, which turned into a paragraph, and then over time, turned that into multiple paragraphs and something actually worth reading. In late 2021, I saw an article posted by David Walters of FanFiAddict on how to make your own website, and I took that as a sign to bring my reviews to the public’s eye for all to see, it took a lot of work and several weeks before it was ready to hit the public, but because of that article, I now have a website dedicated to book reviews, which lead to me being featured on the back of three books by Ryan Cahill and other ARC requests coming in all the time… and it all started because I fell in love with the story Nicholas Eames created in Kings of the Wyld.
